Acupuncture needles are approximately 20 times thinner than a typical hypodermic needle used for injections.  Every person will have a different experience with acupuncture but most feel no pain throughout the procedure.

Acupuncture can be used for a number of conditions including:

  • Headaches
  • Back pain
  • Whiplash
  • Acute injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Women’s Health
  • Rheumatoid arthritis

Ultrasound can be a very effective treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal injuries.  It has been effectively used for many years as it promotes healing in injured tissues and helps to reduce pain.

Core stability refers to the flexibility and strength of the muscles that lay deep within the trunk of the body, below the abdominal muscles.  It is these muscles that work to keep the body stable and balanced during movement.

Decreased core stability can be an influential factor with a number of problems including low back pain.  It is, therefore, very important to maintain good core strength which can be achieved with simple exercises and very little equipment.

Massage is the use of hands, fingers, elbow or ‘tools’ to manipulate soft tissues. Physiotherapy originates from the core skill of massage and the use of physical approaches to prevent and treat disease and disability. Massage therapy forms part of an array of manual techniques used by physiotherapists often as a necessary adjunct to other treatment modalities.
